Currently teaching IB Chemistry HL and SL at an international school in Abu Dhabi, I’ve spent 11 years guiding students through everything from stoichiometry to equilibrium. I pay close attention to IA planning, making sure experiments are realistic with clean data sets, and we spend time decoding markscheme language. Many of my classes are small groups of 2–3 friends revising together. I also support students with simple revision timetables so they aren’t leaving everything to the last minute.

Based on Saadiyat Island, I tutor A-Level Chemistry for Edexcel and OCR. Many of my students struggle with organic mechanisms, so we build them up slowly using colour-coded arrow pushing and lots of short questions. I also run weekly online past-paper clinics before mocks and final exams, where students can drop in, ask questions and work through tricky multiple-choice together. I’m easy-going in lessons but expect students to attempt questions between sessions so progress stays steady.

For the past 7 years I’ve tutored IGCSE Chemistry for families following the British curriculum. I put extra time into core topics like bonding, acids and bases, and moles, because once those are secure the grade usually climbs quickly. Lessons are relaxed but focused, with regular mini-tests to track progress and shared Google Docs for worked solutions and notes. I’m familiar with both school-based assessments and external exams, and I adjust pace depending on term dates.

I work with GCSE Chemistry students from British schools, both in person and online. My sessions are ideal for those who find calculations and required practicals overwhelming. We go through each experiment, write up methods and results clearly, and then link them to the kinds of questions that appear in papers, practising until the wording feels familiar and manageable. I’ve helped students move from foundation to higher tier when appropriate, always checking with school first.

I tutor AP Chemistry for students at American schools i who are aiming for 4s and 5s. A lot of our time goes into practice with equilibrium, thermodynamics and electrochemistry, plus pacing on multiple-choice and FRQs. I share structured revision plans so students know what to cover each week before the exam, and we keep a shared list of past mistakes to avoid repeating. Most of my teaching is online now, using a tablet and shared whiteboard so we can work through problems together.
